If you get SSI, look at your bank account this Friday, October 30. A deposit will land that morning — and it is not a bonus. It is your November payment, arriving early because November 1 falls on a Sunday this year. That one fact explains the strangest Social Security calendar of the year: SSI households will see two deposits in October and no SSI deposit dated in November at all. Here is every November 2026 payment date for Social Security and SSI, why two of them moved, and how to plan the 32-day stretch until the next SSI payment on December 1. Checking your payment date is always free.
November 2026 Social Security & SSI payment dates
These dates come from the Social Security Administration’s official Schedule of Social Security Benefit Payments for 2026. Find your group and read across:
| Who gets paid | Payment date |
|---|---|
| SSI — November payment (paid early) | Friday, October 30 |
| Social Security if you started before May 1997, or you get both Social Security and SSI | Tuesday, November 3 |
| Social Security — born on the 1st through the 10th | Tuesday, November 10 |
| Social Security — born on the 11th through the 20th | Wednesday, November 18 |
| Social Security — born on the 21st through the 31st | Wednesday, November 25 |
Your own payment date is also shown in your my Social Security account and on your benefit letter — those are the safest sources for your exact case.
Why SSI arrives on October 30 — and why November looks empty
SSI is normally paid on the 1st of the month. When the 1st falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, Social Security pays on the business day before. November 1, 2026 is a Sunday, so November’s SSI payment moves up to Friday, October 30.
That shift is not extra money, and November is not a cut. You already received October’s SSI payment on October 1. The October 30 deposit is November’s money, just early. The next SSI payment after that is Tuesday, December 1 — a 32-day gap. The federal maximum SSI payment in 2026 is $994 a month for an individual; most people receive less, based on their income and living situation.
One more date to circle: December’s SSI calendar flips the pattern again. The January 2027 SSI payment arrives early on Thursday, December 31 — and it is the first one that includes the 3.6% cost-of-living raise for 2027.
Why the November 10 Social Security payment moved, too
Regular Social Security benefits are paid on Wednesdays, based on your birth date. In November, the second Wednesday is November 11 — Veterans Day, a federal holiday — so everyone born on the 1st through the 10th is paid one day early, on Tuesday, November 10. The other two Wednesday groups are unchanged: November 18 for birthdays on the 11th–20th, and November 25 for birthdays on the 21st–31st. Note that the November 25 payment lands the day before Thanksgiving, which matters if you were counting on it for holiday groceries.
How to make the October 30 SSI payment last all of November
- Treat the October 30 deposit as November’s money. Set aside what November’s rent, utilities, and medicine need before spending anything extra in October.
- Know your food dates. Texas SNAP deposits still run November 1–28 on the Lone Star Card schedule — see our November 2026 SNAP payment dates guide for your exact day.
- Fill the gaps free. San Antonio free food pantries and the free Thanksgiving meals guide can stretch a tight November budget — no shame, that is what they are there for.
- Ignore “bonus” texts. Messages promising an extra or surprise SSI payment this fall are a scam pattern. There is no bonus — October 30 is simply November’s regular payment. Social Security will never ask you to pay a fee to release a payment.
If your payment does not arrive
Check with your bank or credit union first — deposits sometimes post later in the day. If the payment still has not arrived, Social Security asks you to allow 3 extra mailing days after the scheduled date before calling. Then call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time.

Frequently asked questions
Why did I get two SSI payments in October 2026?
Because November 1 is a Sunday. October’s payment arrived on October 1 as usual, and November’s payment was moved early to Friday, October 30. The second deposit is November’s money — it is not a bonus or a double payment.
Is there really no SSI payment in November 2026?
There is no SSI deposit dated in November, because November’s payment was already sent on October 30. Your benefits have not been cut or paused. The next SSI payment is Tuesday, December 1.
Why is my Social Security payment on Tuesday, November 10 instead of Wednesday?
Your normal payday is the second Wednesday of the month, but Wednesday, November 11 is Veterans Day, a federal holiday. Social Security pays that group one business day early, on Tuesday, November 10.
When does the 3.6% COLA raise start?
Social Security payments rise starting with January 2027 payments. SSI recipients see it first, in the payment dated December 31, 2026, because January’s SSI is paid early. Our Social Security COLA 2027 guide breaks down what the raise means for your check.
