February 2027 is the month the payment calendar goes back to normal. If you get SSI, your payment arrives on Monday, February 1 — right on time, after a long wait with no SSI deposit dated in January at all. January’s SSI money came early, on December 31, so February 1 ends a 32-day stretch between SSI deposits. Regular Social Security checks land on Wednesday, February 3, 10, 17, and 24, depending on your group and birthday. Best of all, not one February date is moved by a weekend or a holiday. Here is every February 2027 payment date, what to watch around Presidents Day, and how to plan the month. Checking your payment date is always free.

Your own date and amount are also shown in your my Social Security account — that is the safest source for your exact case. If the last two months confused you, our January 2027 Social Security & SSI payment dates guide explains why no SSI deposit was dated in January, and our December 2026 Social Security & SSI payment dates guide explains the two SSI deposits that month, and our November 2026 guide explains why SSI arrived on October 30.
Why February has no shifted dates — a calm month after two confusing ones
SSI is normally paid on the 1st of the month, and Social Security’s older group is normally paid on the 3rd. When the 1st or the 3rd falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the payment moves to the business day before. That rule moved SSI twice in a row at the end of 2026 — November’s payment arrived October 30, and January’s arrived December 31.
February 2027 needs no moves at all. February 1 is a Monday and February 3 is a Wednesday, so both payments arrive on their regular days. Every Wednesday payday also falls on its regular week. The one date to know is Presidents Day, Monday, February 15: it is a federal holiday, so banks and Social Security offices are closed that day — but no payment is scheduled for February 15, so it does not change any deposit date. The February 17 payment, two days later, arrives as usual.
One more piece of good news for SSI households: March 1, 2027 is also a Monday, so the next SSI payment after February 1 arrives on Monday, March 1, right on time — two normal months in a row after the long January gap.
Your February check is the second one at the new 2027 rate
Social Security benefits and SSI payments increased by 3.6 percent for 2027, and February is the second month at the higher rate for most people. From the Social Security Administration’s official 2027 COLA fact sheet:
- SSI federal maximum, individual: $1,029 a month in 2027, up from $994.
- SSI federal maximum, couple: $1,544 a month, up from $1,491.
- Average retired worker: $2,170 a month, up from $2,095 — about $75 more a month on average.
- Average aged couple, both receiving benefits: $3,355 a month, up from $3,238.
Your own amount will differ — the raise is a percentage of your own benefit, and Medicare Part B premiums or other deductions can change what actually lands in your account. The raise is automatic. You do not need to apply, register, or pay anything to get it, in February or any month. Watch out for callers or texts saying they can “activate” or increase your raise for a fee — Social Security will never charge for the COLA raise. Hang up, and check your real amount only in your own my Social Security account or on your mailed notice.
How to plan February on these dates
- SSI households: your wait ends February 1. The December 31 deposit had to cover all of January. February’s payment arrives on the 1st, and March’s arrives on March 1 — your budget rhythm is back to one payment on the 1st each month.
- Born on the 21st through the 31st? Your check is February 24. That is the last payday of the month — plan larger late-February bills, like rent due March 1, around that date.
- Know your food dates. Texas SNAP deposits run February 1–28 on the Lone Star Card schedule, based on the last two digits of your EDG number — see our February 2027 SNAP payment dates guide for your exact day.
- Fill the gaps free. San Antonio free food pantries can stretch a tight February budget while you wait for a later payday.
If your payment does not arrive
Check with your bank or credit union first — deposits sometimes post later in the day. If the payment still has not arrived, Social Security asks you to allow 3 extra mailing days after the scheduled date before calling. Then call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Remember that Monday, February 15 is Presidents Day, so offices are closed that day.

Frequently asked questions
When does SSI pay in February 2027?
On Monday, February 1, 2027 — right on time. February 1 is a Monday, not a weekend or a holiday, so there is no early-payment shift this month.
Why was there no SSI payment in January 2027?
Because January 1 was a federal holiday, January’s SSI payment was moved early to Thursday, December 31, 2026. Your benefits were not cut or paused — February 1 is the next regular payment, and March 1 follows on time.
Does Presidents Day change any February 2027 payment date?
No. Presidents Day is Monday, February 15, 2027, and banks and Social Security offices are closed that day — but no Social Security or SSI payment is scheduled for February 15, so every February deposit arrives on its regular date.
How much is SSI in 2027?
The federal maximum is $1,029 a month for an individual and $1,544 for a couple, according to SSA’s 2027 COLA fact sheet. Your own payment can be lower based on your income and living situation.
