Clean clothes shouldn’t be a luxury. If the laundromat is eating your grocery money, San Antonio has two free laundry programs that will wash and dry your clothes for nothing — one big event day in November, and one that runs every single month. Here’s where to go and what to bring.
The Big One: Free Laundry & Literacy Day — Wednesday, November 18
The LaundryCares Foundation, together with Early Matters San Antonio and Too Small to Fail, is hosting a Free Laundry & Literacy Day on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at 10 SpinXpress laundromat locations across San Antonio.
During those two hours, washing and drying is completely free — and there’s no limit on how much clothing or how many linens you can bring. While the machines run, families get free refreshments, early-literacy activities for kids, and resources from local community partners. It’s built for families with young children, but anyone can come.

Every Month: Laundry Love at E-Z Wash
Can’t wait until November? Laundry Love, a ministry of St. Paul Lutheran Church, pays for laundry once a month at E-Z Wash, 3503 S Presa St, San Antonio, TX 78210.
- When: the first Wednesday of every month, 6:00–8:00 PM
- What’s covered: washer and dryer use, plus detergent, dryer sheets, and quarters — everything is provided
- What you need: nothing. No proof of need, no residency requirement, no ID. Just show up with your laundry.
What to Bring & Good to Know
- Bring it all: the November 18 event has no clothing limit — comforters, blankets, and backed-up hampers are welcome.
- Go early: free laundry events draw a crowd. Arriving near the start time means shorter waits for machines.
- Bring bags or baskets to haul clean laundry home; the events supply the wash, not the transport.
- Kids welcome: the November event includes children’s literacy activities, so the little ones stay busy while clothes wash.
