If these bars are in your pantry, your diaper bag, or your car, throw them away tonight — do not serve them, and do not buy more. On October 30, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned that Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels, Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars are a potentially fatal choking hazard for toddlers. This is not a “check the date” warning. It covers every package of this product, everywhere.
How to spot the product
The name on the box is Once Upon A Farm Tractor Wheels, Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars. The warning covers:
- All flavors
- All quantities and varieties
- All lot codes and all expiration dates — there is no safe batch to keep
The bars are sold nationwide, online and in stores, including Costco, Target, and Walmart. They may also be sold on Amazon.com and by other third-party sellers. If the box says Tractor Wheels, it goes in the trash, no matter where or when you bought it.
Why the FDA is warning parents
The FDA says it has received several reports of toddlers — ages 1.5 to 2.5 years — suffering complete airway obstruction, meaning they could not breathe at all, after eating these bars. When chewed, the bar reportedly forms a dry, sticky mass that standard choking first aid — including back blows and the Heimlich maneuver — may fail to dislodge. Some of the reported incidents needed emergency responders and hospital observation. That is why the FDA uses the words “potentially fatal,” and why the right move is the trash can, not the pantry shelf.
The FDA has told the company about these reports, and the company has agreed to start a recall. The FDA says it will update its warning as more information comes in.
If your child is choking, or already ate these bars
- Choking right now: start first aid. If first aid measures to dislodge the obstruction have failed, call 9-1-1 — that is the FDA’s own instruction.
- Your child ate the bars and has symptoms: contact your health care provider, tell them what your child ate, and get care.
- To report a problem: complaints and adverse events can be reported through the FDA’s Industry and Consumer Assistance page, linked below.
The FDA does not announce a refund or a return process in this warning — the instruction is simply to throw the product away. Do not wait for a refund offer to act.
